Small enough to care.
BIG enough to get the job done.
Through November 2022 and Summer of 2023, Anchor Moving & Storage was called on to go the final mile with The Laurel. The Laurel introduces a lifestyle worthy of the final residential opportunity on prestigious Rittenhouse Square. As the tallest new condominium tower in Philadelphia’s Center City, expansive corner residences take luxury to new heights and panoramic views to new horizons. The Laurel is presented by Southern Land Company, a national real estate developer headquartered in Nashville, TN, with regional offices in New York City and Denver, CO. The company upholds stringent standards for design and quality in their single-family, multifamily, mixed-use, and hospitality developments. Anchor Moving and Storage’s esteemed reputation made them a valuable asset to the completion of this project. The team at Anchor Moving and Storage was pivotal in providing a white glove level service to make The Southern Land Company vision a reality by managing the FF&E, coordinating with customer inbound receiving, and working with the various general contractors for assembly, on site furniture placement, and debris removal.
The team at Anchor Moving and Storage received approximately 50,000 pounds of FF&E (furniture, fixtures & equipment) in the warehouse for pre-assembly of furniture, storage and transit. For quality assurance, the warehouse team inspected each piece for signs of visible damage. Then each piece was separated and stored by product model number. This process allowed Anchor M&S to select the needed items from a list provided by the customer for delivery on given dates. Over 40 lift gate straight trucks were used to deliver the products in as many as 16 separate deliveries. Once on site, Anchor Moving assembled high-end upscale furniture, installed artwork, placed furniture to the customer’s specifications and removed all debris from the building for disposal at Anchor’s warehouse. The Anchor team worked diligently to meet the specifications of the 66 condominiums and 187 luxury apartments spanning 48 floors of the skyscraper. The massive project took over 675 man hours on site at The Laurel.
For a smooth transition and inventory control, Anchor Moving and Storage worked extensively to coordinate with The Laurel’s customer inbound receiving administrator. This included recording all inventory locations, completing receiving reports within a 24 hour turnaround, and maintaining accurate invoices to show all inbound, storage, outbound, additional labor and disposal aspects of the job. It was also necessary to keep a record of evolving storage amounts for accurate hundredweight billing.
Through close communication with the on- site General Contractor, the Anchor Moving and Storage Team was able to meet all delivery times, adhered to special instructions, and fulfilled the manpower required to perform the daily tasks. Southern Land’s vision for this project set the tone for an elegant tower that would offer a new residential experience for city dwellers, while Anchor Moving and Storage’s caliber execution took the project to the final mile.
