  • Tandem axle tractor, no older than 10 years
  • Air ride suspension
  • Fifth wheel height 48″ maximum from ground
    Legal length with a 53′ trailer and certified empty weight
  • Must pass our D.O.T. inspection
  • Tractor painted to Atlas specifications

Position Summary:

This individual will report to and works under the supervision of the Dispatcher who will be responsible to issue the daily work load and go over any special requirements that the move may need. It is the individual’s responsibility to review all work for effectiveness according to company policy.

This individual will coordinate all aspects of the customer relocation needs and provide a smooth worry free move. It is the individual’s responsibility to communicate with their dispatcher of any issues that may arise and help with a solution to solve the issue.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties listed are intended as examples of the various types of work and responsibilities that will be performed by this individual in this classification of employment. This individual will be required to carry out and perform these duties to the best of their ability.

  1. Must have a professional and courteous manner and the ability to work proficiently in a harmoniously manor with other employees and or customers.
  2. Responsible for doing a complete walk through at the job site and proper introduction of the crew to the customer.
  3. Responsible to make sure that the origin site is prepped with floor protection, banisters wrapped, stairs protected, etc.
  4. This individual will be responsible for the performance of the crew will at the job site, and to report to their supervisor any issues pertaining to the crew’s performance.
  5. Get all paperwork completed accurately with all information required by State and Federal law requirements.
  6. In the event there may be a delay due to customer not ready to be moved, that the estimate will exceed the estimated cost of services prior to loading and report to your direct supervisor for any further instructions.
  7. Make sure prior to leaving the yard that you have all equipment necessary to complete the job in a professional manner.
  8. Coordinate, organize and must provide the skills to direct the employees in their responsibility of work to be performed while on jobs.
  9. Will be responsible to collaborate with co-workers and customers to carry out an efficient plan to pack, load and deliver to insure safe transportation of their household belongings.
  10. Make sure that the crew wraps furniture in quilted blankets while furniture is still in house. We understand that all furniture will not be able to be wrapped until it is in the truck due to size or safe handling of their belongings.
  11. Make sure that all fabric furniture is wrapped in plastic to insure safe and proper protection.
  12. Individual accepts and will perform any and all work assigned.
  13. It will be your responsibility to perform the work in a safe manner so that no one is put into harms way.
  14. Will be required to complete an hours of service log when needed.
  15. Must wear company-approved uniform and maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing the company at any business location they are assigned to.
  16. Will be required to get certified through our van lines for interstate transportation as the company may need you to perform jobs that require certified employees.

Qualifications

  1. Individual must have a clean valid Class A, Class B license for CDL trucks and a Class C license for Non-CDL trucks.
  2. All drivers must have a valid Medical Card while driving commercial vehicles.
  3. Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  4. Maintain a positive and professional attitude and demeanor with employees and customers.
  5. Able to lift items of 80 lbs or greater on a repetitive basis while performing different methods.
  6. Required to pass a criminal background check and drug screen. However a conviction of a crime may not disqualify an individual from this position.
  7. Must have a commitment to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.
  8. Currently own or lease a valid truck / tractor
  9. Must qualify and pass certification for Atlas.
